RYA Coastal Yachtmaster Practical

Advanced skippering techniques for sailors with in-depth knowledge of sailing and navigation and those wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. The Coastal Yachtmaster course is designed to give you the confidence to undertake more complex coastal passages which may involve sailing at night, watch keeping or more challenging passages.

The course will focus on improving your close quarters manoeuvring in order to help you build the confidence required to tackle more demanding berths. You will gain a deeper understanding of the practical application of passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling under power and sail and ensuring onboard safety and emergency situations. This course is a continuous assessment and at the end of it you may be awarded with your Coastal Yachtmaster certification.

15 days, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours. Minimum age 17 (must be accompanied by an adult if under 18)
