RYA Start Yachting Practical

The RYA Start Yachting course is a two-day introductory programme designed for beginners to gain basic knowledge and experience in sailing. Participants will learn fundamental skills such as steering, sail handling, and rope work under the guidance of experienced instructors. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation to start their yachting journey with confidence and a better understanding of the principles of sailing.

Our patient and friendly skippers will give you the experience of being on the water and learning some of the basic techniques that will stay with you throughout your yachting life. You will spend your time sailing around the solent and visiting some of the most picturesque places on the Isle of Wight and South Coast such as Yarmouth, Newtown Creek, Beaulieu and Hamble. After a long day of sailing you can either cook onboard or venture out to a local pub, where you can sit back, relax and reflect on your day.

No experience required. Minimum age 16.
